Rockin’ the Bulb with Foreigner

Another Rock the Bulb weekend has come and gone, which means it’s time for us to hit the road and get ready for next weekend in Oak Harbor. Thank you to every one of our Anacortes bulb rockers who helped us reach a milestone this weekend with over 70,000 bulbs exchanged for energy efficient CFL bulbs at our tour stops! With the help of Anacortes we’ve now:

  • Exchanged  165,082 incandescent bulbs for CFL bulbs
  • Saved 38,133,942 kWh of electricity
  • Saved $7,098,526 on energy bills
  • Avoided 41,947,336 lbs of greenhouse gas emissions
  • Equivalent to 3,484 cars off the road

In other news, our friend Kellie at Project Porchlight got to hang out with some real energy rock stars last week! Kellie managed to get the guys from Foreigner to take some time out of their day to show their support for bulb rockers everywhere!

After breaking records last weekend in Port Orchard, Puget Sound Energy’s Rock the Bulb Tour rolls into Anacortes this weekend. If you are a PSE residential electric customer and haven’t had a chance to Rock the Bulb yet, be sure to come out to Ace Hardware in Anacortes and learn how to become a true energy rock star! We’ll be there Saturday and Sunday (August 22-23) from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM. Bring up to 10 incandescent bulbs and exchange them for free, energy rock star CFL bulbs.

Record-Breaking Bulb Rocking!

Just when we thought things couldn’t get any bigger than our weekend in Bremerton, Port Orchard shattered our record! This last weekend, over 1,650 PSE residential electric customers stopped by and exchanged over 15,400 incandescent bulbs for new, efficient CFL bulbs! After this weekend, our tour totals are now:

  • 143,567 incandescent bulbs changed out for CFL bulbs
  • 33,163,977 kWh of electricity saved
  • $6,173,381 saved on energy bills
  • 36,480,374 lbs of greenhouse gas emissions avoided
  • Equivalent to 3,030 cars off the road

Port Orchard wraps up our time on the Kitsap Peninsula. Thanks to all who came out and rocked the bulb with us! Our next stop will be at Anacortes Ace Hardware August 22nd and 23rd from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM. We’ll see you there!

Bremerton Rocks!

Well another PSE Rock the Bulb Tour event has come and gone–and what an event it was! Bremerton was our busiest weekend yet, with 1,450 PSE residential electric customers rocking the bulb and exchanging almost 13,500 bulbs!

So far, our Rock the Bulb Tour savings totals are now:

  • 101,091 incandescent bulbs changed out for CFL bulbs
  • 23,352,021 kWh of electricity saved
  • $4,346,913 saved on energy bills
  • 25,687,223 lbs of greenhouse gas emissions avoided
  • Equivalent to taking 2,134 cars off the road

If you’ve missed us so far, we’ll be at the Lowe’s in Port Orchard August 15th and 16th from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM. This will be our last weekend on the Kitsap Peninsula so be sure not to miss out!

Shannon M. of Olympia is today’s lucky Golden Bulb finder! Shannon tracked down the bulb at the Auburn Mayor’s Office and earned herself a $250 gift card to Lowe’s. Congratulations, Shannon!

Today’s additional Golden Bulb clues are:

  • I’m learning all about collecting, preserving, and interpreting the Naval heritage of the Pacific Northwest. Too bad bulbs can’t enlist!
  • This place focuses on history, but got a brand new name and location for itself in 2007. On the water, fittingly!

Puget Sound Energy’s Rock the Bulb Tour rolls on, and this weekend we’ll be back on the Kitsap Peninsula in Bremerton. If you are a PSE residential electric customer and you missed us last week in Silverdale, be sure to come out to Lowe’s in Bremerton and learn how to be a true energy rock star! We’ll be there Saturday and Sunday (August 8-9) from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM. Bring up to 10 incandescent  bulbs and exchange them for free, energy-efficient CFL bulbs.

Rocking the Bulb, Peninsula Style

Next Stop: Bremerton

Hey Bulb Rockers! Thank you to everyone who came out to our first Kitsap Peninsula tour stop last weekend! Over the weekend, more than 1,000 PSE residential electric customers exchanged over 9,000 incandescent bulbs for new, energy-efficient CFL bulbs!

So far, the Rock the Bulb Tour has:

  • Exchanged over 73,000 incandescent bulbs for new CFL bulbs
  • Saved over 12.7 million kWh of electricity
  • Saved more than $2.3 million on energy bills
  • Prevented greenhouse gas emissions equivalent to taking over 1,100 cars off the road for a year

If you’re a PSE residential electric customer and you missed us last weekend, don’t worry! We’ll be at the Lowe’s in Bremerton this weekend (August 8 and 9, 10:00 AM-4:00 PM each day). Look for us under the parking lot tent.
