Renton Rocks the Bulb!

PSE’s Rock the Bulb Tour is off to a great start! Last weekend, PSE Rocked the Bulb at the Renton Lowe’s.  Thanks to Lowe’s, our staff and volunteers for all their help – and thanks to all our residential electric customers who came out, rain or shine, to exchange their old incandescent bulbs for free energy-saving CFL bulbs.

More than 500 customers came out and exchanged over 4,600 incandescent bulbs for CFLs. In addition, PSE partner Project Porchlight distributed about 13,600 bulbs door-to-door and at community events in the Renton area over the last two weeks.

By rocking the bulb, together we can save energy, money and help protect the environment! Renton savings numbers include:

  • More than 4.2 million kWh of electricity saved over the life of the CFL bulbs
  • Almost $785,000 saved on electricity bills
  • More than 4.6 million pounds of greenhouse gas emissions avoided – equivalent to taking 385 cars off the road for a year.

Stay tuned for photos from the event. Thank you to everyone who came out last weekend and be sure catch the next leg of our tour July 18-19 at Lowe’s in Bellevue!

Pssst…If you haven’t already, don’t forget to sign up for the Be an Energy Rock Star Contest – show off your energy-saving skills for an opportunity to win part of over $45,000 in cool prizes!
